Hello again, its been a while, but we here at RA3 .co.uk have been working very hard on the new site design. We still have work to do on our Red Alert 3 Forums, but the bulk of the work is done! (but thats not the point). I am writing, as you can probably tell by the aptly named title, to tell you about Red Alert 3 Allied Build Order and Strategy’s. If you have been reading our ra3 strategy site you will know that my last posts were all about soviet build orders and strategy, so I have some catching up to do to give you some hints for the Allied and EOTRS (Empire of the Rising Sun) factions.
So lets begin!
This will be a general strategy, rather than some of the counter spacific strategys which i have been talking about for the soviets. More will follow shortly tho!
The allies have some of the most versitile units and structures in the game when it comes to attacking and defending, in the form of there defensive turrets, add an infrantry unit of your choosing and the turret will aquire that units ability. To start with your base will be defended with these. Dont forget to wall in your refinary if you can with a building to stop terror drone harassment, as it is costly to your early game and economy.
First off your build order should be:
- Power
- Barracks
- 2/3 Dogs for scouting
- Engineer, try to capture the oil derreck (you will need the cash!)
- Refinary
- Refinary
- build a 3rd prospector for expansion early on
- Refinary at expansion
- Turret at expansion
- Upgrade to level 2
- Keep a turret in you build que incase you need to counter any enemy units
- Armor Facility (get the tanks rolling!)
- Airfield
- .. Navy
The Allies have the best air in the game, you need them late game if you cant get an early victory.
The basic plan is to defend early on with you turrets, scouting for enemy with dogs and trying to get an overall economic advantage at the start. Your then getting alot of ground armor units out, set a few in there secondary ability to increase damage and range, you may face a large infrantry rocket counter if you get scouted, but anything more than a few infrantry you can deal with (just run them over!). If you spot the counter, get out 20 peacekeepers and storm the enemy base before they can take to the skys!
Remember if they went fast air, you can quickly follow with apollos (which is the best air to air unit in the game)!
As the game progresses, keep up your armor construction, but your going to have to get some bombers out to crush any resistance that remains, keeping an ecomomic advantage is the key to success, harrass there refinarys with bombers and hang onto your oil. If you face an armor mirror, get 4-5 athena cannon and keep them protected with your tanks, you should be instoppable.
If the fight takes to the seas, use destroyers, there a more economical unit, when compaired to dolphins (remember, your scouting has been taken care of, you just need fire power). Give them anti air from apollo fighters and if it drags into late game, you can send an amphibious destroyer attack on there base and expansions, or get some aircraft carriers out for some serious fun!
